Welcome to Nur Ul Islam Academy

Asha Nazadin is an accomplished educational leader with more than two decades of experience in teaching, instructional leadership, curriculum development, and school administration. As the Head of Middle School at Nur Ul Islam Academy, she is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, strengthening school culture, and ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Educational Leadership Focused on Growth and Achievement

In her current role, Ms. Nazadin works closely with the school principal to select rigorous curricula, implement supplemental resources, and align instructional practices with state standards. She is deeply committed to monitoring student achievement, closing learning gaps, and supporting teachers through meaningful mentorship and ongoing professional development.

Her leadership encompasses every dimension of school improvement, including:

  • Curriculum planning and evaluation
  • Data-driven instruction and RTI strategies
  • Teacher coaching and mentorship
  • Behavioral support systems and positive school culture
  • ESOL programming and Title I/II academic initiatives
  • Parent engagement, community events, and school-wide programs

Ms. Nazadin also oversees daily operations—managing schedules, coordinating communication among teachers, families, and stakeholders, and ensuring a smooth and supportive learning environment for all. With a strong foundation in data-driven instruction and educator support, she empowers teachers to elevate their practice and helps students reach their highest potential.

A Career Dedicated to Teaching and Empowering Educators

Before becoming Head of Middle School, Ms. Nazadin served in multiple instructional and leadership roles across South Florida. Her earlier years at Nur Ul Islam Academy included teaching third grade, mentoring new educators, providing professional development, and supporting curriculum initiatives such as Accelerated Reader and Think Central.

Throughout her career, Ms. Nazadin has remained dedicated to supporting Islamic schools and uplifting students through a holistic, faith-guided, academically rigorous education. Her passion for student success, love for teaching, and commitment to professional growth make her a respected leader among students, families, and educators.

Middle School (Grade 6-8)

Building Character, Knowledge, and Faith

NUIA’s Middle School program provides a strong academic and moral foundation for students in grades 6–8. This is a time of discovery, independence, and growth — and our teachers guide students every step of the way. Working closely with parents, we create a nurturing Islamic environment where students are encouraged to excel academically, spiritually, and socially.

Language Arts

  • Our Language Arts program helps students become confident readers, writers, and communicators.
  • Focus on reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking.
  • Students explore literature, nonfiction, and technical texts.
  • Writing projects include essays, short stories, and poetry.
  • Weekly library visits foster a love for reading.
  • Participation in the Broward County Literary Fair inspires creativity and public recognition.
  • Test prep for NWEA MAP, PSAT 8/9, SAT, and ACT begins in 8th grade.
  • Core Materials: Into Reading, Writing and Grammar, and Vocabulary Workshop Achieve series.


Mathematics

  • Our math program helps students see the beauty and practicality of numbers.
  • Emphasis on problem-solving, logical reasoning, and real-world applications.

Islamic Studies

  • Students attend Islamic Studies classes three times a week using Learning Islam Books 1–3.
  • Topics include the pillars of Islam, Islamic law, history, and ethics.
  • Students study the lives of prophets, the Quran’s revelations, and the Hadith.
  • Lessons encourage reflection, gratitude, and strong moral values.
  • Students strengthen their relationship with the Quran through reading, recitation, and memorization.
  • Focus on correct Tajweed rules and understanding the meaning of verses.
  • By the end of middle school, students memorize the 28th and 29th Juz.
  • Encourages spiritual connection and fluency in Quranic recitation.


World Languages – Arabic

  • Daily Arabic instruction helps students develop communication skills and cultural understanding.
  • Three levels: Low, Mid, and High Intermediate
  • Curriculum: Al-Madina Arabic Reader (Levels I–VI)
  • Focus on speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension.
  • Students gain insight into the language and culture of the Arabic-speaking world.


Computer Science

  • Preparing students for success in the digital age:
  • Learn essential programs like MS Excel and PowerPoint.
